Aquatic Plants
These are all living plants, which can be divided in to 5 groups. Those groups are floating, foreground, midground, background, and marginal plants.
Floating Plants
These plants float freely on the surface of the aquarium or pond. Some of them may become invasive. For these plants to thrive, they need very bright lighting and good ventilation. Some small and sometimes invasive species are Duckweed and Salvina. Water Lettuce is larger and harder to keep. When unrooted, hygrophila and ludwiga can be floating plants.
